Public Works Construction
Our main focus as a union contractor is heavy civil public works construction as a Prime Contractor.
With decades of field experience and a new generation in the office, we are equally invested in new heavy equipment and computer software, so we can stay current with industry needs on projects of all sizes for years to come.

The McClung family are enrolled descendants of the Karuk Tribe and maintain federal/state DBE/MBE Certification.

Our specialty are stream restoration and other environmentally sensitive projects with critical water management components.
Private Construction
Even though we are a union contractor, we continue to make a great effort to maintain relationships that were built during our open shop days.
Currently, our private work clients are: The Muckleshoot Indian Tribe, Hancock Forest Management, and Cadman, Inc.
ABOUT
Mike, Jeff & Steve McClung started their first construction business together with their father Jesse McClung in 1986 as Glacier Construction & Equipment Co., Inc. They were a DBE certified public works contractor who started out with a good amount of subcontractor work for larger general contractors like Seacon, Quiqq Bros. and Mowat. This evolved into a prime contractor role that they successfully operated until 2002 when they decided to split up the Company.
Mike McClung Construction Co. was founded in 2002 after the dissolution of Glacier, and he went to work in the woods, primarily for Weyerhaeuser and Hancock Forest Management, installing large diameter multi-plate culverts and bridges and other various forest road improvement construction projects. Mike McClung Construction Co. also installed the first engineered log jam in a National Park on the Carbon River Project in 2011 in Mount Rainier National Park.
Mike began phasing into retirement in 2015 when he agreed to sell the corporation to his brother Steve McClung and Steve's son Kelson, who now have full control of the company and are focusing primarily on public works infrastructure projects.
